| Infratab’s Freshtime™ tag is a semi-passive RFID tag. This means that its temperature-sensing and shelf life calculations are battery-powered but its RFID communication is powered by an RFID reader. Today Infratab’s tags are compatible with ISO UHF 18000-6B; in development are tags compatible with EPC UHF Class 1 Gen 2 and ISO HF 15693/18000-3. |

| In order to provide monitoring and user alerts, each tag is pre-programmed before being starting with information from the perishable producer. This information includes: desired temperature sensing interval, anticipated temperature range, shelf life data for the perishable for the temperature range, high and low temperature thresholds, alert conditions (for shelf life, temperature thresholds and elapsed time) desired by producer, transporter and/or retailer plus user data (for example, batch/lot number, production date). |

This data is entered via an RFID reader either by Infratab at time of tag assembly or by the perishable producer on the label line. |

| The tag can have an optional on-tag display—activated by the press of a button. You can use either the button on the tag or RFID to start, stop or query the tag. |

| If the tag is used in an RFID environment, the tag’s alerts can be read as the tagged perishable passes thru a warehouse RFID portal or by a handheld RFID reader. If the alerts indicate that temperature abuse has occurred, more detailed data and history can be output via RFID queries. |

| A tag can be 1-use or multi-use. The life of a tag is dependent upon battery size—thus determining the number of reuses or the life of the products for which a particular tag is applicable. Both 1-use and multi-use tags have the same functionality. |
