Infratab is a leader in perishable condition monitoring solutions. Our innovative solutions are backed by a strong and growing portfolio of issued and pending U.S. and international patents covering RFID sensor tags and their use with PCs or mobile devices for the purpose of monitoring the condition of a product.

The patents cover sensor tag architecture consisting of an RFID circuit and one or more sensors in various physical configurations and providing various functions, including:

  • a long tag in which the RFID portion of the tag is outside a container and the sensor is on the inside on the product
  • a sensor tag in which an RFID module is physically separate but coupled to the sensor
  • a tag which monitors time and temperature and logs the data for future
  • a tag which additionally calculates the shelf life of a perishable using an in-tag trend table or algorithm
  • the use of RFIC chip memory to store freshness and temperature threshold status and data about the product
  • a 100-point system for describing the shelf life status of a perishable
  • the tracking of shelf life and temperature status by business step or process
  • the use of PC or mobile control software to get sensor data to and from the sensor using RFID chip memory
  • inheritance of status and log data from a sensor tag to another sensor tag, RFID tag, barcode or printed label
  • inheritance of status from a pallet tag to a case tag to an item tag
  • inheritance of status and log data from an RFID EPC tag to an NFC tag
  • the ability to find a tagged item using the tag’s display.

We currently hold three issued U.S. patents and international patents in Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan, and India. If you would like more information about our patent portfolio, please contact us at patents@infratab.com.
